Notre Dame Academy was founded on 19/03/2014 is a Catholic institution managed by the Sisters of Notre Dame Under Barat Society.

The Sisters of Notre Dame trace their history and tradition to spiritual mother, St. Julie Billiart of France, who founded the congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1804. Her Charismatic spirit of finding God's goodness in everything was handed over to our foundress Sister Maria Aloysia Wolbring of Germany and to our Co- foundress Sr.M. Ignatia Khuling, who instituted the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Coesfeld, Germany on October 1st 1850. The congregation was formed during the Religious and social needs of the time. These young ladies out of love for the poor took orphaned and neglected children into their home educating them and caring for them. This spirit moved the congregation to establish schools to educate the children.

The special Charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame is to make known God’s goodness and providential care to all people. Hence Notre Dame Schools devote themselves to the holistic Education of the children. They integrate Values with all areas of knowledge to form people able to influence the transformation of society. Awareness of world realities, a sense of social justice and concern for the environment are integral to Notre Dame ministry of education.

The first Notre Dame School in India was founded in Jamalpur, Bihar, in 1950. Today, Notre Dame institutions are found in states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra and Odisha.
